Compact Disc (CD)
Each CD is a one of a kind, special. You can have the album artwork as its displayed, without additional art, or with the option of two rubber stamp images created from Emil's ideas in conjunction with artwork from our friend, comic artist Ben Shaw:
Mike and Emil Favila always wanted to make electronic music, they just didn't know where to start. They didn't know any producers, so Mike just bought some music software and a guidebook. Neither of them played keyboards, so Emil started watching shaky tutorials on YouTube. They didn't have an endless budget, so they build a studio at home and started recording. After a while, it just seemed easier to handle it themselves.
Every guitar and keyboard riff, every drum roll (programmed or played), every Beach Boys harmony would be recorded in their basement. Though the brothers didn't plan it this way, this new music married the sweetness of the synthpop they sang along with in the Philippines, but still held the tension and urgency of the Washington, DC bands they worshipped.
The debut album from Atoms Apart is called White Label, in tribute to those handmade bootleg records, discreetly identified by a rubber stamp logo. The entire album was recorded and mixed by Mike, with help from John Maheu (Pietasters). White Label was mastered by Huntley Miller (Zedd, Bad Plus, Owsla). The album contains an alternate mix from Fractal (BT, Au5) and a remix from MadScience. White Label is out now on Bandcamp, Itunes, Google Play, Amazon MP3 and all major digital outlets.
